My main professional interests lie in various areas of computing: systems, networks,
compilers, communication protocols, distributed computing, algorithms and so on
and so forth. I am also interested in teaching in most of these areas.
Among my personal interests lie: art of all kinds, gaming and
history.
A summary of my activity:
- Since late 2018,
I have been working as a software engineer in Bucharest, Romania; my work is
focused on development and maintenance of custom operating system software for
high-performance network testing. More recently, I have been involved in the
development of pre-silicon testing solutions for various network protocols, such
as IEEE 802.1AE, IEEE 1588, etc.
- Between 2013 and 2018, I did research on computer software and
hardware security, reliability and testing, in the particular areas of operating
systems, compilers and software-hardware co-design. I concluded my research with
a PhD in computing at University Politehnica of Bucharest, in close
collaboration with researchers from VirtualMetrix, Inc., EPFL and UPenn.
- Between 2013 and 2016, I worked as a teaching assistant at
University Politehnica of Bucharest, in the disciplines of operating systems,
computer security and programming paradigms.
- Between 2011 and 2013, I worked as a software engineer and
researcher with VirtualMetrix, Inc., a now defunct software company which
specialized in software solutions for power management. This work was concluded
with a prototype BYOD solution using virtualization on an ARM device. Part of
this work was used for my master's thesis on the performance evaluation of
microkernel-based virtual machines.
- In 2011, I got my bachelor's degree from University Politehnica of
Bucharest. My thesis involved practical research in the field of artificial
intelligence, on automated negotiation with bounded rational agents.
