Într-adevăr singura chestie interesantă pe care am auzit-o în ultimul timp (şi care mă face să cred că poate criza tehnologică nu e aşa de mare precum credeam). Carevasăzică, domnii de la M.I.T. şi-au propus să folosească banalul condensator ca mediu de stocare a energiei electrice (şi să do some research, cum zic englezii). Ce i-a oprit să facă asta în atâta amar de vreme (cică din 1745, de când a fost descoperit condensatorul) a fost cantitatea mică de curent pe care un condensator o poate ţine pe electrozi. Citez:

The researchers solved this by covering the electrodes with millions of tiny filaments called nanotubes. Each nanotube is 30,000 times thinner than a human hair. Similar to how a thick, fuzzy bath towel soaks up more water than a thin, flat bed sheet, the nanotube filaments on increase the surface area of the electrodes and allow the capacitor to store more energy. Schindall says this combines the strength of today’s batteries with the longevity and speed of capacitors.
