David Gilmour – On An Island – Video Promo and EPK

We have some nice goodies for you to watch and listen to today – the promo video to David Gilmour’s forthcoming single, the title track from his album „On An Island”, AND the EPK (electronic press kit)! The promo video is a lovely, relaxed piece of film. Most of it is bathed in blue, like ebbing and swirling water, and shows David in action singing, playing guitar, and collaborating with his fellow musicians. […] Turning now to the electronic press kit (EPK), it is a short (just under seven minutes long) but fascinating look, narrated by David, at the recording of the album. Filmed before the album was finished, it catches him in the midst of the recordings, and even shows Ian Malloy’s glass harmonica work. David mentions that a similar sound was used at the start of the Wish You Were Here album (achieved using wine glasses – the only known recording to emerge from the Household Objects sessions).
